From High School to College Life

Finally back to blogging!

I'm done with high school days because yes, i'm finally a college freshman. Things are changing so fast. New life, new school, new environment and new distractions. Everything new and whatsoever.

Have you heard about the word "culture shock"? It's the feeling of disorientation experienced by someone who is suddenly subjected to an unfamiliar culture, way of life, or set of attitudes. That's what i'm feeling during the first week of school, or maybe until now.

Let me tell you why, I came from Chiang Kai Shek College which is a Chinese school somewhere in Manila. Before, my high school days doesn't start and end with prayers. We have curfews, that means we have to leave school by 5:30pm. They're strict with our hairs and with how we wear our uniform. Girls' hair should be tied, barber's cut for the boys. No retreats or recollections.

Unlike in college, everything's different. The people you're with and the places you go during your free time. There has always been a desire for me to explore and immerse myself into different cultures. Sounds exciting, right? Feels like I got my freedom back. HAHA! Just like my 3-hour break between classes. We can do whatever we want. If sa high school, may magiikot na school coordinator just to check if the classroom is noisy... Sa college, wala ng pakielamanan. You should know your priorities. It's too different from high school.

Just be who you are and say what you feel. It matters.

Paramore's "my heart" is my instant throwback song. It takes me back to the old times. Makes me cry whenever I hear this song. *sighs*

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I can't change, the courage to change the things I can & the wisdom to know the difference.
